The 1045 carbon steel is our most affordable line of live katanas. It is a great light cutter for dojos and an excellent backyard cutter for everything from pool noodles to melons, to water bottles on regular basis day after day. The 1045 Carbon steel is slightly softer than our 9260 and 1060 live blades, but still able to handle occassional tatami omote.
