Shirasaya Mounted Swords

Shirasaya translates to "White Scabbard" literally. These are swords mounted in a plain wooden scabbard and handle. This type of mounting is typically for storage, transport, or display only. (Occassionally, they are used as disguised weapons and had been made famous by Japanese gangs or Yakuzas in movies).

Shirasayas are meant to allow the sword to breath through the scabbard, so it should never be painted or lacquered. We made ours available only as a means to safely transport the bare blades. The scabbard and handle are intended to be discarded upon delivery for mounting in appropriate working furniture before use.

Please Note: Our warranty only extend to the blade body house in the shirasaya. We do not repair/refund/exchange the sword based on the condition of the disposable wooden container itself.

(Our shirasayas were added to our Bare Blades due to tendency of bare blades to pierce through shipping container in transit. The scabbard and handles are added free of charge. Only price change reflects the added habaki. As such, we have assigned no commercial value to the wooden furniture and do not carry replacement components nor service the saya and handle.
